Glossary of translation industry terms

ADAPTATION / ADAPTATION OF TEXTS

Very often, when reaching out to foreign customers or even a new domestic audience, pre-prepared texts need to be significantly modified and reworked before they can be published on social media or on a website, adapting them to the specificities of the country, market or target audience, for example by adapting the text into plain language. In the process of adaptation, the text is partially or even completely rewritten, preserving the essence and tonality of the original message.
